Vegan Hemp Heart Spinach Dip (Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free)
Directions
Step 1
- Sauté Garlic and Spinach:
- In a pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Add spinach and cook until wilted (if using fresh), about 2–3 minutes.
Step 2
- Blend the Dip Base:
- In a blender, combine hemp hearts, plant-based milk, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Step 3
- Combine and Heat:
- Add the sautéed spinach and garlic to the blender and pulse a few times to combine—leave it a bit chunky if you like texture. Alternatively, stir the blended base into the pan with spinach and heat gently until warm.
Step 4
- Serve:
- Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve warm or at room temperature with veggies, crackers, or gluten-free chips.
Step 5
- Serving Suggestions:
- Use as a sandwich spread or baked potato topper
- Add chopped artichoke hearts for a twist
- Sprinkle with extra hemp hearts or chopped chives before serving
